What the school is

The NLCS relationship and school structure

Although the school is co-educational overall, its “diamond model” teaches girls and boys separately from ages 11 to 16, with mixed junior and sixth-form classes.

Jeju Global Education City schools have different admissions arrangements from mainland foreign schools. NLCS Jeju says it welcomes applications from Korea and overseas without limits on the number of nationalities represented. Older reporting put the Korean-national share of pupils at 98%. That is not a current enrolment figure, and it says nothing direct about classroom culture or academic pressure.

Dated examination results and university offers

The school reports a 2025 IB Diploma average of 37.0 against a worldwide average of 30.6, with one score of 45 and eight of 44. Its homepage reports 37.1 for 2026. For 2025 IGCSE, the school gives 75.3% of grades at A*/A; NLCS International gives 75.4%, a small discrepancy between the two. The group also describes more than 40 academic societies and 150 after-school and weekend activities, not all of them open to every year group.

Reporting on the Class of 2025 lists university offers including Oxford (2), Cambridge (1), Imperial College London (10), UCL (23), King’s College London (27), Edinburgh (14), Pennsylvania, Cornell (3), Brown, UC Berkeley (6), UCLA (6) and Toronto (44). JDC separately reports that 668 of roughly 1,200 graduates attended QS top-100 universities. These figures have different scopes and should not be combined into a single success rate.

One pupil can receive several university offers. The eventual enrolment list shows where graduates chose to study; read it alongside candidate counts, pass rates and distributions for examination results. Neither an offer list nor a school average predicts the outcome for an individual applicant.

Admissions include assessment. Placement matters most for pupils arriving from another curriculum during the two-year IGCSE or IB courses, when subject combinations may not carry over. Discuss English-language and learning support separately from academic selection, including staffing, available places and any additional charges.

Admissions, fees and the fine print

The admissions policy describes rolling applications from Reception through Year 12, with no Year 13 intake. Assessment informs decisions by the Principal and NLCS International. A directory’s approximate 40% acceptance rate is not a forecast for your child’s application. The school also describes Article 20 special-case admissions for certain local circumstances; ask admissions whether a category applies and what documentation is required.

The official 2026–27 schedule lists annual tuition of KRW 20,704,990 plus US$12,000 for Reception, KRW 23,004,700 plus US$13,334 for Years 1–6, KRW 24,087,920 plus US$13,962 for Years 7–9, KRW 27,389,609 plus US$15,871 for Years 10–11 and KRW 29,023,910 plus US$16,814 for the Sixth Form. Both currency portions are payable. New pupils pay KRW 400,000 for application, a KRW 5 million refundable acceptance deposit, a KRW 3 million capital fee and, for boarders, a KRW 500,000 boarding capital fee; the separate registration fee was deleted in April 2026.

The 2026–27 boarding fee, charged in won only, is KRW 14,912,340 for Years 3–6, KRW 17,259,780 for Years 7–11 and KRW 17,679,780 for the Sixth Form; meals are billed separately by the canteen operator. Sixth Form tuition plus boarding therefore totals KRW 46,703,690 plus US$16,814, before joining charges and extras. A relocation agent’s reproduction of the 2025–26 schedule also listed junior weekly boarding at KRW 12,225,720; the 2026–27 schedule shows no weekly option.

Under the 2026–27 policy, the acceptance deposit is refunded only after a pupil completes one full term, or the current and following full term for mid-term entrants. The policy also sets day-based proration for mid-term entry, waives the capital fee for returning pupils, takes a non-refundable KRW 3 million re-enrolment deposit off the next year’s tuition, and offers a 6% boarding sibling discount in Years 3–13 and a 2% lump-sum payment discount. Keep refundable deposits separate from costs and retain both currency portions in your budget.

Boarding life

Boarding houses and weekend arrangements

The boarding page encourages boarding from Year 5 and describes six single-gender houses with en-suite rooms. Sixth Form pupils have dedicated houses, Halla East and Halla North, and boarders receive an Academic Enhancement Programme. The older fee table includes junior weekly boarding from Year 3; ask which starting ages and arrangements are available now.

If home is on the mainland, assess the whole journey: school-to-airport transfers, check-in, flights, onward travel and supervision. Frequent flights alone do not make weekly travel suitable for every child. A directory mentions Saturday classes, so confirm attendance requirements and release times before planning weekend journeys.

Weekend numbers in each house, and the activities, supervision and contact with home on offer, are worth asking about on a visit. Day pupils may also have weekend commitments. The family experience

Location, community and the daily reality

The campus is at 33 Global Edu-ro 145 Beon-gil, Daejeong-eup, Seogwipo, in southwest Jeju. Journeys to the school, airport, shops and services vary with housing. The island offers beaches, walking trails and Hallasan; transport and air conditions differ from one home to another.
