Bogotá

Bogotá schools follow either calendario A (generally January to November) or calendario B (generally August or September to June or July), and each school sets its own dates. Schools place transferring children from their completed coursework, so a change of calendar does not automatically mean repeating or skipping half a year. ↗

Colegio Nueva Granada: founded in 1938, CNG offers an American curriculum at Carrera 2 Este #70-20 in Chapinero Alto. Its 2025–26 profile lists 32 AP courses, Cognia accreditation, a US diploma and an optional Colombian Bachillerato. It reports 1,671 students and an average high-school class of 11, with a maximum of 23. School publications report 99% university progression; request the relevant cohort and destinations. A current official CNG fee quotation was not publicly available. A 2024–25 secondary compilation lists annual tuition of US$13,485–14,918. Another estimate calls COP 53.6–60 million matrícula without a clear breakdown; do not add it as a separate joining charge. January 2025 directory data lists monthly tuition of COP 5,092,272, plus meals and transport. These historical estimates use different bases. ↗

Colegio Gran Bretaña: CGB teaches an English-medium curriculum leading to IGCSE and the IB Diploma at Carrera 51 #215-20. Its 2025–26 handbook describes more than 50 nationalities; directory enrolment estimates vary from roughly 360 to 460. Current official fees were not publicly available. The handbook describes monthly billing, a June invoice only for families who started in September or later, and a 50% enrolment-fee refund if a student never starts. See the CGB profile. ↗

CNG and CGB offer different qualification routes and occupy different parts of the city. Individual diplomatic-community reports describe long journeys to CGB and compulsory catering, which makes the bus route and dietary arrangements part of the choice. ↗

Colegio Anglo Colombiano: founded in 1956, the school offers the IB Primary Years, Middle Years and Diploma programmes on a northern Bogotá campus. It reports about 1,800 students, CIS accreditation since 1998 and Round Square membership. IB Diploma authorisation dates to 1980. Rochester School: the Nord Anglia school in Chía is described as combining American and Colombian curricula with AP courses on a LEED Platinum campus. Operator listings give fees from US$10,300 annually; undated directory data lists monthly tuition around COP 2.4–2.9 million. Knightsbridge Schools International Bogotá in Guaymaral is another bilingual IB option; an undated secondary annual estimate is COP 22–38 million. ↗

Lycée Français Louis Pasteur: the AEFE-network school at Calle 87 #7-77 follows the French curriculum through the Baccalauréat for ages 3–18. An undated relocation guide gives annual costs around COP 34.3 million. ↗

Colegio Andino: founded in 1922, Deutsche Schule Bogotá offers German and Colombian qualifications, including the German International Abitur. Published material reports about 1,850 students and Excellent German School Abroad recognition in 2008, 2014 and 2022. Colegio Helvetia, founded in 1949, provides another multilingual option with Swiss qualifications; ask about the route available for your child. ↗

Other bilingual schools: Gimnasio Moderno, founded in 1914, draws on Montessori and Decroly approaches and has described a gradual transition to co-education. Confirm which year groups admit girls. Undated directory tuition is around COP 2.7 million monthly. Colegio Colombo Americano is listed around COP 3–3.3 million monthly including food and describes a Canadian dual-diploma option. ↗ ↗

Ask whether matrícula recurs annually and how many tuition instalments apply to your start date. Joining charges, transport, meals and support may be separate. CGB’s 2025–26 invoice schedule includes a specific condition on the June invoice; it should not be generalised to other schools. Obtain current payment dates, late-payment terms and a full first-year total. ↗

Map the exact campuses alongside possible homes and workplaces. CNG is in Chapinero Alto, Anglo Colombiano is in northern Bogotá, CGB is beyond Calle 200, and Rochester is in Chía. Housing areas such as Rosales, Chicó, Usaquén or Cedritos sit on different routes to these campuses, so compare school-run journeys and bus pickup schedules before choosing a home. ↗
