History and diploma options

The school profile describes English instruction except in Colombian social studies and language classes, including Spanish, French and Mandarin. Students pursuing both the US diploma and Colombian Bachillerato need to meet the requirements of each. These qualifications can support university applications, but admission depends on the institution, course and applicant. It reports 803 AP exams in 2025, 63 AP Scholar Award recipients, including 60 with Distinction, and 30 AP Capstone Diplomas. AP Capstone is an additional award rather than a replacement for the school diploma. The profile gives an average high-school class size of 11 and a maximum of 23; ask which courses will run for your child’s cohort.

The profile describes a defended 4,000–5,000-word Senior Research Project, the Classroom Without Walls programme and a minimum of 80 community-service hours in high school. It reports 13,309 service hours in 2024–25 and an ICFES Saber 11 A+ classification. School publications report US$11.8 million in US college scholarships for the Class of 2025 and US$37 million over five years. The totals do not say whether they are offers or accepted awards. Listed university destinations include Los Andes, Northeastern, NYU, MIT, Stanford, Yale, Cornell and IE University; request cohort sizes and actual enrolments when comparing outcomes.

Cognia accreditation, Colombian education recognition and ICFES examination results provide different kinds of information. The school’s reported 5:1 student-teacher ratio also differs from its average class size of 11: staffing ratios include teachers beyond those assigned to a single classroom.

Admissions and dated fee information

Families applying from abroad can contact admissions about visits, assessments and entry during the year. The fee information is secondary and dated. A January 2025 directory lists monthly tuition of COP 5,092,272, cafeteria charges around COP 400,000 and transport around COP 500,000. July 2025 reporting gives 2024 monthly tuition of COP 5,225,833–5,492,477 for kindergarten to Grade 7 and COP 4,787,338–5,038,889 for Grades 8–11. A separate compilation attributes annual figures of US$11,774–13,508 to 2023–24 State Department information. These are not interchangeable current quotations.

Ask CNG how annual increases are set and communicated, and whether enrolment charges recur. CNG follows an August–June calendar, so a transfer from a Colombian calendario A school may involve different term dates and course sequencing. Agree placement and a start date with admissions rather than assuming August is always the best transfer point.

The Chapinero Alto campus is on the eastern side of Bogotá. The directory lists a school day of 7:00 am to 2:15 pm; confirm current division hours and activity pickups. Individual diplomatic-community reports describe traffic delays, including in rain. Test the journey from each proposed home at school times and obtain the actual bus route, pickup time and current charge.
