What the school is

Ownership and two-campus provision

The school is owned by Cognita and operates as Stamford American International School Pte Ltd. It shares an owner with Australian International School Singapore but follows a different curriculum and calendar. Ownership establishes the operating structure; it does not by itself describe teaching quality, admissions decisions or campus investment.

The Early Learning Village opened in September 2017. Background reporting describes more than 2,000 places there, which is a capacity figure rather than current Stamford enrolment or available places. The Woodleigh campus serves elementary, middle and high school. Listed facilities include an innovation centre, a 500-seat theatre, pools and sports areas. Confirm the grade at which a child moves between sites.

Secondary descriptions list daily Mandarin or Spanish from age two and an elementary Bloomberg Financial Literacy Lab. These are examples of language and enrichment provision. Families can ask how they fit into the timetable, what prior language experience is expected and which activities are available in the child’s year group.

Courses and graduation requirements

High-school programmes combine American graduation requirements with choices drawn from IB, AP, BTEC and Stamford courses. The school describes its own high school diploma as US-accredited. A full IB Diploma and any BTEC qualification have their own completion requirements; they are not automatically awarded with every mix of courses. AP courses likewise do not constitute a separate school-leaving diploma. Obtain the course-planning guide to understand which combinations meet the student’s university or vocational plans.

Stamford offers a Preparatory Course for Secondary School and a Foundational Academic English course for pupils developing academic English. They have separate fee schedules and progression requirements. Do not assume that preparatory tuition, mainstream tuition and EAL charges all apply at once: the quotation should state the programme, support level and payments for each stage.

Fees and the real cost

Tuition, technology and support charges

The official 2026–27 schedule, effective April 15, 2026 and quoted in Singapore dollars including 9% GST, lists annual fees of S$30,820 for five full days of Pre-Nursery or Nursery, S$39,520 for Pre-Kindergarten, S$45,340 for Kindergarten 1, S$46,330 for Kindergarten 2, S$49,040 for Grades 1–5, S$53,210 for Grades 6–8 and S$56,110 for Grades 9–12. From Kindergarten 2 these annual totals include the technology fee. New pupils pay a non-refundable S$950 application fee, then on acceptance an enrolment fee of S$4,000 (Early Years) or S$4,140 (Grades 1–12) and a facility fee of S$3,200 (Early Learning Village) or S$8,320 (Grades 1–12).

The technology fee within those annual totals is S$990 for Kindergarten 2, S$1,020 for Grades 1–5 with iPads and S$1,270 for Grades 6–12 with MacBooks. The devices remain school property. The terms exclude misuse, water, screen, keyboard and other physical damage from the fee’s coverage. For a new Grade 9 pupil, the 2026–27 annual fee and one-time joining charges total S$69,520 before support, transport, trips and other extras.

The 2026–27 schedule lists annual EAL charges of S$9,100 for Level B and S$14,900 for Level A, in addition to tuition. Student Support Department charges may apply for assessed learning support, and Academic Field Studies fees cover programme travel. The 2024 handbook describes advance semester billing, with annual payment or two equal instalments due on 1 May and 1 October.

The school lists sibling discounts of 30% on enrolment and facility fees and 10% on tuition for a third child; the corresponding reductions are 70% and 20% for a fourth or subsequent child. Eligibility and the charges discounted should be confirmed. Published payment terms allow late interest of up to 1.5% per month and exclusion for unpaid fees, with an excluded pupil treated as withdrawn after 28 days. The school does not accept physical cash; approved payment methods include bank transfer and credit card.

Admissions, boarding and daily logistics

Applications are accepted year-round, with records review and assessment informing entry. Places still depend on the grade and support programme. Woodleigh is near Woodleigh MRT on the North East Line. An optional door-to-door bus service is described as island-wide and charged separately; actual routes and travel times need to be checked for the proposed home and campus.

An undated school brochure describes boarding at 80 Baker Road from S$27,485 per year, billed by semester and including GST. It covers academic days, with school holidays requiring separate arrangements. The brochure also lists a S$200 application fee, S$500 annual registration fee and S$3,000 refundable deposit. Because the brochure is undated, these should not be combined with current tuition as a confirmed boarding total. Establish the current address, eligibility, supervision, holiday coverage and deposit conditions before applying.
