What the school is

Ownership and the Aljunied campus

Nexus first enrolled pupils at Ulu Pandan in July 2011 and moved to Aljunied in January 2020. It is owned by Taylor’s Education Group, the Malaysian private education company behind Taylor’s University and schools in Malaysia. The founding date, later enrolment figures and current campus capacity should be treated as distinct information.

The 12-storey Aljunied campus was designed with staff input and has capacity for about 2,000 learners. Primary spaces occupy the lower floors, with shared facilities and secondary spaces above. Open-plan learning hubs are a feature of the design. Listed facilities include an Olympic-sized pool with timing touchpads and a warm-up pool, an artificial-turf sports field, an auditorium, black-box theatres, a science laboratory and music studios. A visit can show how quieter spaces, movement between floors and pool access work for the child’s age.

Published accounts describe IB PYP and Diploma authorisation, Cambridge examination-centre status and joint CIS/WASC accreditation dating from 2017.

Academics in practice

IB programmes with IGCSEs in the middle years

The documented sequence is Reggio Emilia-inspired early years, IB PYP in primary, an MYP-framed programme in Years 7–9, Edexcel IGCSEs in Years 10–11 and the IB Diploma in Years 12–13. The middle-years description should not be treated as confirmation of current MYP authorisation. IGCSEs provide an examination qualification before the Diploma, with subject and transfer requirements different from a continuous MYP route.

The Good Schools Guide reports around 60 nationalities, none exceeding 15% of enrolment, and at least eight nationalities in each class at the time of its review. That is a snapshot of the community, not a fixed nationality cap. The review describes additional and intensive support for bilingual and multilingual learners, with up to 22 weekly sessions in the intensive programme alongside mainstream subjects such as art, music and PE.

Secondary reporting describes more than 90 co-curricular activities and participation in ACSIS sports, with swimming supported by aquatics facilities and reported scholarships.

Fees and the real cost

Tuition, joining charges and support fees

The official initial charges include S$1,090 for application and S$5,123 for enrolment when a place is offered. The annual development levy is S$2,000, charged in the first semester each year and not prorated. These amounts include GST and are described as non-refundable and non-transferable. The enrolment fee is a joining charge; the levy recurs annually.

The official 2026–27 schedule lists annual course fees of S$26,600 for half-day Nursery, S$33,600 for full-day Nursery and S$37,200 for Kindergarten. Years 1–13 range from S$40,400 to S$50,800. These amounts include GST but exclude the annual S$2,000 development levy. For example, Year 1 course fees plus the levy total S$42,400, before joining fees, support and other applicable costs. The Foundation Programme has a separate fee schedule.

Published course-fee discounts are 3% for the second child, 15% for the third and 25% for the fourth. Their application depends on the school’s sibling rules. For a multi-child budget, confirm which pupil receives each reduction and which charges, such as the development levy or support fees, remain undiscounted.

The official 2026–27 schedule lists additional support fees per semester: EAL at S$3,000 for additional support, S$5,000 for intensive support or S$6,000 for foundation support; and learning support at S$3,000 for Tier 2 or S$5,000 for Tier 3. Assessment determines the applicable provision and combination of charges. The fee page says new pupils enrolling before mid-semester pay the full semester’s course fee; it does not state that every later start is charged identically. Credit-card payments carry a 2.5% administration fee, with Flywire available for international payments.

Admissions and the family experience

Availability, scholarships and daily arrangements

A review describes waiting lists in some year groups and academic or swimming scholarships covering 25%–100% of tuition for two years. Availability depends on the intended entry, and scholarships come with their own application dates, eligibility, retention conditions and costs outside tuition.

The reported school calendar runs from August to June over four terms, with a day from 8.15am to 3.20pm. The campus is near Aljunied MRT, but the actual journey should be tested from the proposed home. One secondary source describes weekly and full-time boarding from age 12; we found no first-party confirmation of the arrangement. Do not assume boarding is currently available on the campus. Establish the provider, location, supervision and fees if residential care is needed.
