Jakarta Intercultural School offers an American high-school diploma with IB and AP options. Pattimura and Pondok Indah serve elementary pupils; Cilandak serves Middle and High School. Its 2026 High School Profile lists 36 IB and 28 AP courses. Older reporting gives more than 2,300 pupils from over 70 nationalities; ask for current enrolment and class sizes. ↗

The reviewed JIS profile records a 2026–27 standard annual Enrolment Guarantee Fee of IDR32.25 million and an annual capital fee of IDR68.367 million. A secondary table gives combined tuition, enrolment and capital subtotals of approximately IDR551.5 million for Grades 1–5, IDR627.7 million for Grades 6–8 and IDR633 million for Grades 9–12. These exclude some charges and are not all-inclusive budgets. The early-payment deadline of 2 April 2026 has passed.

JIS’s cited 2026–27 schedule lists a one-time EAL fee of IDR89.148 million where assessment identifies a need for English-language support. The policy requires participation when the school determines it is needed, including after enrolment. Technology and Lane 3 High School Surcharge amounts were not publicly available. Older 2025–26 bus figures were IDR72.8–78.75 million annually; request a current full quotation for the relevant campus and route.

British School Jakarta has an 18-hectare campus in Bintaro, in the wider South Tangerang area. Secondary 2026–27 fee reporting lists IDR158.518 million for its youngest early-years example, including a capital levy, and totals of IDR449.504 million for Grades 1–5, IDR505.998 million for Grades 6–10 and IDR561.064 million by Grade 12. Other options include Nord Anglia School Jakarta in Cilandak and The Independent School of Jakarta in Pondok Indah. School groups do not necessarily offer the same programme or age range at every campus. • Global Jaya School in Bintaro, founded in 1995, is described as offering the IB continuum with WASC accreditation. A third-party 2026–27 table lists IDR82.302–222.844 million. ↗
• Australian Independent School, founded in 1996, is described as teaching the Australian Curriculum through Year 10 followed by the IB Diploma. Its primary campus is in Kemang. The cited review reports CIS accreditation in November 2024; ask for current programme and campus details. ↗
• ACG School Jakarta in Pasar Minggu is described as offering the IB PYP, Cambridge IGCSE and IB Diploma. An external review reports approximately 300 pupils and English-language support. ↗
• Mentari, HighScope, BINUS, SPH and Gandhi Memorial provide additional programmes to compare. ISJ’s market guide lists broad fee ranges of IDR65–175 million for Mentari and IDR50–180 million for HighScope, without a fee year; campuses, teaching languages and qualifications differ. ↗

Deutsche Schule Jakarta and Lycée Français de Jakarta provide further national-programme options, each with its own teaching languages, admission criteria and fee schedule.

JIS’s documented assessments cover English, reading, writing and mathematics. Other schools set their own processes. Mid-year entry depends on a place, suitable support and course compatibility, particularly during examination years. Each school sets its own calendar and placement rules for pupils arriving from a different system.

Families considering Pondok Indah, Kemang, Cipete or Cilandak should map the specific school campus and workplace journeys. JIS has more than one elementary site, so confirm placement before assuming a nearby campus. Bus coverage, pickup and the return after activities vary by campus. ↗

Bintaro and BSD City provide other locations to compare, while Kelapa Gading and PIK are separate northern areas with school options. Central Jakarta may also work for some households. Evaluate the actual route and daily commitments rather than rule a neighbourhood in or out based on family type.

For a prospective property, check access during heavy rain, safe pickup arrangements and the school’s procedures for transport delays. Conditions vary street by street, so a broad neighbourhood description or another family’s experience is only a starting point. ↗
