GIS is registered as a company limited by guarantee. Its four departments are Infant, Junior, Lower Secondary and Upper Secondary. The reviewed directory reports a class-size limit of 28, with a teaching assistant in each Infant and Junior class. The school describes itself as non-sectarian; its motto is Understanding of Each Other.

The school’s homepage describes day and boarding provision, but published sources do not give boarding fees, house details or admission arrangements. If boarding matters, confirm whether it is operating for the intended age and start date, and request the full residential information.

Cambridge programmes and qualification options

Teaching is in English, with local content included before the examination years. Cambridge Early Years, Primary and Secondary programmes lead towards IGCSE, typically in Form 4, and A levels in Form 6. The BTEC option focuses on Music and Creative Media. The curriculum does not include IB or AP.

With a reported roll of around 1,400, GIS has pupils across four departments. Ask how new students join established classes, how tutors communicate with families and what support is available for mid-year arrivals.

A current official fee schedule was not publicly available. A 2018 press account described Ghanaian, long-term expatriate and diplomat/short-term expatriate fee categories, with annual fees of roughly US$1,930–5,170 and admission fees of US$6,000–7,000. An October 2025 press guide estimated US$6,000–9,000 for primary and US$10,000–16,000 for secondary. These are historical estimates with different dates and scope, not current quotations or a basis for calculating a first-year total.

Ask whether nationality or residency categories still apply, which category would cover your family and what documents determine it. The school sets its own invoice currency and exchange-rate rule, which may differ from the published interbank rate.

Compare a current GIS quotation with the same-year fees for the relevant grade at Lincoln or another school; the older GIS estimates are too dated to show which school is cheaper now. The campus is in Cantonments, near diplomatic missions. If considering Cantonments, Airport Residential or another neighbourhood, test the school journey during morning traffic. Property-guide travel times and asking rents are not reliable guarantees for a particular home or school-bus route.
