What the school is

History, campus and governance

Doha College consolidated its provision at the Al Wajba campus in September 2020. The 2023 inspection confirms the single-campus arrangement. Older plans to retain West Bay provision do not describe that arrangement.

The school has no private owners or shareholders and says fee income is reinvested in its operations and development. The 2023 inspection describes a governing board with parent, staff and British embassy representation. Doha College also received COBIS Patron’s Accreditation in 2017.

Academics and the 2023 inspection

The November 2023 BSO report recorded 224 pupils with identified special educational needs and a sixth form of 305 pupils. At that time, sixth-form provision included 25 A-level subjects and recently introduced BTEC courses. Most 2023 leavers progressed to UK universities. These figures describe the inspection year; request the current subject offer and support arrangements.

The same report described approximately 300 co-curricular activities per week, with around 70% pupil participation, and attendance of 95.3%. It also recorded participation in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and Model United Nations.

A third-party results summary reports that 67% of 2024 IGCSE grades were 9–7 and 83% of A-level grades were A*–B. Request the school’s own recent results with cohort sizes and several years of data before comparing outcomes. The 2023 inspectors recommended more consistent use of formative assessment in a small number of lessons.

Entry requirements and 2026–27 costs

The published entry process includes play-based observation in Foundation Stage, individual teacher assessment in Years 1–2 and cognitive ability testing from Year 3. Years 3–6 also provide a writing sample; Year 12 applicants have a sixth-form interview. An assessment charge of QR 500 applies from Year 2. Decisions consider reports, references and interviews alongside assessment results. The school describes waiting-list bands based on the application rather than a simple chronological queue.

Published sixth-form entry requirements include at least five GCSEs at grade 5/C or above, with grade 6/B in intended subjects. Applicants from other systems should ask how their qualifications are assessed. The cited guidance states no entry into Years 11 or 13 and entry to Years 10 and 12 only at the start of the academic year. Remote assessment is available for overseas applicants; confirm the current arrangements directly.

For 2026–27, tuition per term is QR 13,064 in FS1–FS2, QR 13,717 in Years 1–6, QR 23,379 in Years 7–11 and QR 24,947 in sixth form. Across three terms, annual tuition is QR 39,192, QR 41,151, QR 70,137 and QR 74,841 respectively. Add the annual non-refundable capital charge of QR 8,000 in primary or QR 5,000 in secondary. New entrants also pay QR 3,650 registration, with a refundable QR 1,000 stationery deposit. The QR 2,000 seat-booking payment is credited against first-term tuition for re-enrolling pupils; confirm how it applies to new entrants. Examinations, trips, instrumental lessons, transport and iPads may cost extra.
