What each section teaches

The British secondary section says its IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) replaces IGCSE from 2026. A family transferring during secondary school should check subject continuity and assessment with the school rather than assume an IGCSE route remains available.

In the final two years, TES offers the IB Diploma Programme and the IB Career-related Programme. The latter combines IB subjects with career-related study through an external provider, so university-entry requirements depend on the course chosen.

The French section follows the French national curriculum, leading to the Diplôme National du Brevet and the Baccalauréat. It also describes an American-section Baccalauréat Français International option. This French qualification is distinct from the IB Diploma.

German secondary pupils work toward German school certificates, including the Mittlerer Schulabschluss in Klasse 10. In Klassen 11–12, the section offers the German-English bilingual IB Diploma (GIB).

In that bilingual IB programme, German, history and biology are taught in German, with other IB subjects in English. Discuss the subject combination and university requirements with the section’s adviser, particularly when planning a return to Germany.

Passports, residence and section applications

TES requires a valid passport from a foreign country or recognised territory, plus legal residence in Taiwan. Pupils must live with a parent or legal guardian. TES does not sponsor student visas or provide boarding.

From Year 2, CP or Klasse 1, applicants can formally apply to only one section. Younger applicants may register interest in another section; a subsequent application requires another assessment process and fee.

Among equally qualified applicants within the main window, priority considerations include a family’s work-related relocation, the section’s native language, siblings and continuity in the same national curriculum. These factors do not guarantee a place.

Application windows and waiting pools

For August entry, the main application window runs from September through January. Assessments and interviews precede decisions, usually in March–April. For February entry, apply by November and ask admissions to confirm the decision date.

TES uses a waiting pool, not a chronological queue. A pool place applies to the requested school year and does not carry over automatically. Short-notice overseas relocations may be considered exceptionally; contact the school directly.

The application charge is non-refundable. The current fee policy does not state its amount, so confirm it through the school before submitting.

2026–27 school fees by section

The school publishes semester fees. Annual figures below are our calculation for two semesters, before registration, prescribed support and optional services. Year-group labels differ between sections. For example, British Year 1 and German Klasse 1 are not the same stage.

Registration, deposits and sibling discounts

New students pay a non-refundable NT$50,000 registration fee. Returning students pay a separate NT$50,000 re-enrolment deposit, which is credited to the next semester’s school fees. Do not add that deposit to a full annual tuition total again.

For example, a new British Year 4 pupil’s school fees plus registration total NT$724,200 for two semesters. That calculation excludes application, support, meals, transport and activities.

For each full semester, the school-fee discount is NT$10,000 for a second child and NT$15,000 for each subsequent child. A pupil returning after an absence longer than 12 months must pay registration again. Unpaid fees can lead to loss of the place.

Language and learning-support charges

Support can materially change the budget. Where the school prescribes English, French or learning support, the associated charge is compulsory. Ask for the proposed provision, fee band and review process in writing before accepting.

In British Primary, pupils receiving separate English lessons attend them during Chinese Language and Culture time. The handbook specifies 2.5 hours a week in Years 1–2 and 3.5 hours in Years 3–6. Discuss this timetable with the school if learning Mandarin is a priority for your family.

The British Primary handbook charges NT$90,000 per semester for pupils new to English and NT$75,000 for those developing competence. Pupils assessed as competent receive classroom support without an extra EAL fee. Progress can lead to reduced support and a proportionate credit to the family’s school services account.

In British Secondary and High School, ASPIRE is the learning-support programme. Admission depends on the child’s needs and current staffing capacity. The individual support plan specifies the type and hours of help, with at least two review meetings each year.

French-section support plans cover different circumstances, including learning difficulties, disability and ongoing health needs. The admissions team may request existing plans and specialist reports, and acceptance depends on the section’s capacity to meet the pupil’s needs. Depending on the plan, support may mean in-class assistance, separate lessons or external services.

The German section separately describes German as a Second Language support. The common fee sheet does not list a German-language tariff; ask the section what applies rather than reuse a French or English rate.

Late entry, withdrawal and payment conditions

The fees policy has been effective since 1 February 2026. Registration and learning-support fees are non-refundable. Language-support and school-fee refunds follow separate published rules, and programme-exit refunds require coordinator approval.

A late entrant pays the full semester school fee in August/September or February. The rate then falls to 80%, 60%, 40% and 20% in the following months. A reduced fee does not itself mean the school will approve a mid-semester start.

For school-fee withdrawal refunds, the policy lists 75% before 31 July or 31 January; 50% during August or February; and no refund from September or March. Its table leaves the exact 31 July/31 January boundary unclear, so confirm those dates in writing.

Campuses, buses and everyday costs

The primary campus is in Shilin and the secondary campus is on Yangmingshan. For siblings at different stages, check both journeys and dismissal arrangements rather than assessing only the primary-school address.

TES states that school buses are available from age seven, subject to a route serving your home.

After activities, the published bus departures are 4:20 p.m. from the primary campus and 4:40 p.m. from the secondary campus. The secondary campus also has a 6 p.m. shuttle to Zhishan MRT, so families need a plan for getting home from the station.

The 2026–27 schedule lists standard primary round trips at NT$43,000–51,000, and standard secondary round trips at NT$45,000–53,000. Fixed-route secondary services have a different tariff.

Meals cost NT$155 for preschool and NT$165 for other pupils when ordered through the cafeteria service. Devices, selected activities and external examinations can add further costs beyond tuition.

The school describes typical early-years classes of 16–20 and primary/secondary classes of 22–24, with occasional temporary exceptions. Those are published ranges, not a guaranteed cap of 24.
