Jeddah has several long-established international schools. AISJ began as the Parents Cooperative School in 1952, moved to the TWA compound in 1957 and later operated under Saudia sponsorship. It adopted its current name in 2004 and became independently operated in 2005. Jeddah Prep and Grammar School followed in 1967, and BISJ in 1977. ↗

International Schools Database listed about 30 Jeddah schools in September 2026, including 18 offering a British curriculum. A directory is a useful starting point, but its coverage is not a complete count of licensed schools. Narrow the options by age range, curriculum, language support and location. ↗

The Ministry of Education licenses international schools. External inspection and accreditation provide separate evidence about school standards. BISJ’s November 2025 British Schools Overseas report, for example, describes teaching, welfare, leadership and areas for improvement at that school. ↗

Eligibility depends on the school’s licence and admissions rules. Do not infer that a Saudi passport automatically rules out a place: BISJ’s November 2025 inspection recorded Saudi pupils as 22% of enrolment. Eligibility and documents differ by school, so settle them before paying.

Arabic language, Islamic studies and Saudi content can form part of an international school’s programme. Ask which subjects your child would take, the language level expected and the support for new learners. AISJ, BISJ and JPGS describe co-educational provision; other schools may organise classes differently. ↗

The table uses the school fee page reviewed for this guide, with VAT-inclusive calculations rounded to the nearest riyal. It is not a confirmed entry-year quotation. The page lists no application or capital fee, SAR 500 assessment and SAR 10,000 registration; 2026–27 secondary listings instead show SAR 14,500 registration. Pre-K registration is deferred to Kindergarten. Returning families’ SAR 4,000 seat deposit is credited to tuition. The page also lists a 2.5% monthly late charge. ↗

AISJ lists annual learning support at SAR 12,000, SAR 18,000 and SAR 60,000 for its three levels, and English-language learning at SAR 6,900–10,500. Speech-language and occupational therapy are listed at SAR 7,826–39,130 depending on weekly sessions. These prices do not guarantee availability or suitability; a proposed support plan should specify services and costs.

BISJ’s Al Mohammadiyyah campus teaches ages 2–18 through IGCSEs to the IB Diploma. Its November 2025 inspection rated it Good overall, with Outstanding welfare and leadership, and recorded no alternative sixth-form route. British passport holders receive admissions priority. BISJ ↗

BISJ’s 2025–26 fees were SAR 43,240 for nursery, SAR 56,718 for FS1, SAR 72,726 for primary, SAR 88,320 for Years 7–9, SAR 95,496 for Years 10–11 and SAR 101,430 for sixth form. WhichSchoolAdvisor labels JPGS’s fees as 2025–26: SAR 36,800 for FS1 to SAR 79,925 for Year 13, including VAT. Listed non-refundable joining charges are SAR 402.50 for application, SAR 977.50 for assessment and SAR 13,800 for admission and registration, totalling SAR 15,180. Obtain a current quotation before comparing it with other schools. ↗

Sherborne School Jeddah opened in Ar Rawdah in 2025 for Pre-School to Year 6, with plans to expand towards Year 13. Secondary listings give 2026–27 fees of SAR 30,435–68,152; request the official grade-specific quotation. ↗

Dar Al Fikr in Al Fayha is described in a secondary listing as an American-curriculum school founded in 1985, with Cognia accreditation and Arabic, English and mathematics entry assessments. That listing gives fees of SAR 35,450–62,900 without a clear year in the evidence reviewed. Dar Jana’s 2025–26 secondary fee listing ranges from SAR 20,500 for kindergarten to SAR 39,000 for Grade 12, before applicable VAT. ↗

Joining costs belong in the first-year budget separately from recurring tuition. BISJ’s dated application, assessment and entrance charges total SAR 18,700; JPGS’s total SAR 15,180. AISJ’s registration charge needs clarification because sources differ. Add transport, uniform, devices, examinations and any agreed support package using school-specific quotations.

AISJ lists tuition discounts of 5% for the second child, 10% for the third and 15% for subsequent children, counting the child in the highest grade first. Special services and AP charges are excluded. BISJ lists 10% for third and subsequent children. ↗

If your employer provides an education allowance, establish what it covers: tuition, VAT, joining fees, transport, examinations and support. An allowance does not itself secure a school place.

Contact schools once the likely move date and entry year are known. BISJ publishes British-passport priority, but availability still depends on the year group. Admissions charges vary: AISJ lists no application fee, while BISJ and JPGS list one. Ask about assessment, offer deadlines and any process for unplaced applicants.

AISJ and BISJ are in Al Mohammadiyyah, JPGS in Al Naim and Sherborne in Ar Rawdah. Start with the address of the campus and year group offered to your child. A neighbourhood name alone is not enough to estimate the school run.

Where possible, establish the school place before committing to housing. Test morning and afternoon journeys, including collection after activities. Traffic and journey times depend on the route; this guide does not assume that every Jeddah commute is shorter than a Riyadh one.
