Campus history and the wider school group

Compass began as a primary school at Gharaffa. The 2024 inspection describes Gharaffa provision through Year 6, Madinat Khalifa from Year 1 to Year 13 and Themaid from Early Years to Year 13. Themaid opened in 2019. A secondary profile places total enrolment at approximately 1,600. Treat these as dated descriptions and confirm current year groups and vacancies directly.

The 2021 prospectus included a fourth campus, Rayyan, with a French bilingual programme. The 2024 inspection describes three campuses instead, so French bilingual and Dutch language provision may have moved or changed since the prospectus.

Nord Anglia promotes its Global Campus platform and collaborations with Juilliard, MIT and UNICEF; participation and any costs vary by activity. The school also lists Qatar National Schools Accreditation and memberships in BSME, COBIS and AoBSO. Membership, accreditation and a particular classroom programme are distinct forms of information.

Academics and the 2024 inspection

The February 2024 BSO inspection found that Compass met the standards, describing curriculum, teaching and outcomes as good with outstanding features. It praised pupils’ personal development, relationships and behaviour. Results recorded in the report included 79% A*–C at IGCSE and 95% A*–E at A-level; about 75% of 2022–23 graduates progressed to international universities.

The inspectors reported that most pupils used English as an additional language and described immersion courses and tiered support. They also recommended closer monitoring of teaching impact and noted limits in published subject-level results. Ask how support would be staffed for your child at the relevant campus.

The school reports that its 2025 IB Diploma cohort had an average subject grade of 4.9 and a highest total score of 39. An average subject grade is different from an average Diploma points total. The school also reports that all graduates progressed to university; cohort size, full Diploma average and pass rate were not published with these figures.

Admissions and cost

Rolling admissions, campus-dependent fees

The school accepts applications throughout the year and advertises a response within 24 hours on working days. That is an initial response, not a placement decision. For 2026–27, the combined application and assessment charge is QAR 1,190, or QAR 595 for Early Years. The QAR 2,000 seat reservation is credited against tuition.

The cited 2026–27 Madinat Khalifa fee table lists QAR 45,000 for Early Years 1, QAR 55,000 for Early Years 2, QAR 62,117 for Years 1–6 and QAR 68,342 for Years 7–11, plus an annual QAR 3,866 resource charge. Themaid lists QAR 45,000, QAR 55,000, QAR 63,943 and QAR 68,342 respectively, with the last band covering Years 7–13, plus QAR 3,980 in annual resources. Billing is split across three terms weighted 4/3/3 months. The Madinat Khalifa Early Years fee rows differ from the 2024 campus description. Gharaffa and Madinat Khalifa sixth-form fees are not in the cited tables.

Gharaffa, Madinat Khalifa and Themaid have different locations and facilities; Themaid’s published facilities include performing arts spaces and a STEAM laboratory.
