School history and high-school options

Published accounts describe ISB’s establishment in 1951 for the UN and diplomatic community and its continuing non-profit status. WASC accreditation is documented in the cited sources. CIS accreditation is reported inconsistently across sources.

The reported high-school options include the full IB Diploma, AP courses with AP Capstone and the Personal Choice pathway within ISB’s diploma provision. A secondary guide reports that about 55% of the Class of 2026 chose the IB Diploma. Prerequisites and course combinations differ by pathway. No pathway automatically meets every university’s entry requirements.

ISB reports 95 IB Diplomas for the Class of 2025, an average of 34, 16% scoring at least 40 and a highest score of 44. It also reports 34% bilingual diplomas across eight languages. AP scores averaged 4.13, with 75% at 4 or above. Reported university destinations include Stanford, Cornell, Brown, Penn, Berkeley, UCLA and Imperial; a destination list is not an admission-rate forecast.

Fees and the real cost

2026–27 tuition, joining and transport costs

ISB’s 2026–27 fee schedule sets annual tuition at THB659,000 for Pre-K, THB1,015,000 for elementary (KG–Grade 5), THB1,137,000 for middle school and THB1,197,000 for high school. New KG–Grade 12 pupils pay a one-time THB260,000 registration fee, and all KG–Grade 12 pupils pay a THB22,000 annual fee; the application processing fee is THB4,700. Tuition plus the registration and annual fees totals THB1,297,000 for KG–Grade 5 to THB1,479,000 for high school in the first year, before transport and other charges. The 2025–26 schedule reproduced by Thailand’s Board of Investment was THB640,000–1,162,000.

The 2026–27 schedule lists annual bus charges of THB111,300–178,000 per child across distance bands from 1 to 55 km. At those rates, two children would cost THB222,600–356,000 annually. The band depends on the home address. Compare that quote with housing and adult commuting costs rather than assuming that living in Nichada is always cheaper.

Academic records, recommendations and assessment form part of the process; discuss the support the child would need before accepting a place.

The family experience

Nichada Thani and daily journeys

The campus is within Nichada Thani, a gated community with shops and other facilities. Some resident families can walk or cycle to school. Published campus descriptions include two pools, five gymnasiums, 12 tennis courts, a baseball field, a climbing wall and a golf centre. ISB also uses a 15-acre Environmental Wilderness Campus in Phetchaburi for outdoor education. Some trips carry additional charges.
