What the school is

History, ownership and oversight

Harrow’s historical links with Thailand include members of the Thai royal household who attended the London school, among them Prince Mahidol. The Bangkok school opened in 1998 as a co-educational school for day pupils and boarders.

The March 2023 BSO report identifies Asia International Schools Ltd as proprietor and records a private, for-profit structure. AISL’s governance material describes the Harrow licence and Foundation representation, including governor visits.

Secondary sources report CIS accreditation dating from 2006, alongside FOBISIA, ISAT and HMC memberships. Accreditation, association membership and a BSO inspection are different credentials, each with its own date and scope.

Academics in practice

Inspected Outstanding — and 70% A*/A at A-level in 2025

The March 2023 BSO inspection by Education Development Trust recorded 1,713 pupils and judged attainment and progress Outstanding across phases. It is evidence about the school at that date, not a current guarantee. Read the report’s findings and recommendations and ask what has changed since the inspection.

Secondary reporting gives 2025 A-level results of 70% A*–A and 90% A*–B, and IGCSE results of 71% A*–A and 92% A*–B. For 2024 leavers it reports 91% securing first-choice destinations and 13% attending institutions ranked in the QS top ten; cohort sizes, the ranking year and the definition of first choice are not given. The school’s Leadership in Action programme includes service, expeditions, sport and arts.

A secondary profile reports class limits of 22 in Prep and IGCSE and 15 at A level. It also describes EAL from Pre-Nursery through Year 5 without an extra charge for up to three years. Obtain the current class arrangements, eligibility and support plan, including what happens after that period or for older pupils.

Fees and the real cost

2026/27 fees — and what boarding adds

Harrow’s official 2026/27 schedule lists annual tuition from THB 571,100 (Pre-Nursery half day) to THB 1,063,000 in Years 12–13, with a THB 5,000 application fee, a THB 225,000 non-refundable admission fee and a THB 200,000 refundable day-student deposit. Boarding adds THB 456,700 a year for weekly boarding (up to five nights) or THB 571,100 for full boarding, on top of tuition, plus a THB 75,000 additional boarding deposit. The 2025/26 schedule quoted by Thailand’s Board of Investment ran from THB 553,100 to THB 1,037,100.

Using the 2026–27 senior tuition and admission fee, THB1,063,000 + THB225,000 totals THB1,288,000 before other charges. The refundable THB200,000 day-pupil deposit brings the initial cash requirement to THB1,488,000, but is not spending if refunded under its terms. Secondary sources report annual bus fees of THB119,200–136,200; request the current route and quote.

Admissions and boarding provision

The reported admissions process includes assessment, an interview and school records. Boarding descriptions name four houses: The Knoll, West Acre, Bradbys and The Grove. A secondary source gives approximately 138 boarders within a roll of around 1,850, but these are reported snapshots.

If boarding is required, compare the academic programme and house provision with other suitable schools. Ask about supervision, medical support, weekend activities, house closures and contact with families.

The family experience

Don Mueang campus and journeys

The 35-acre campus is in Don Mueang, northern Bangkok. Published descriptions include a Creative and Performing Arts Centre with a Steinway recital hall, an eight-lane 25-metre pool, floodlit rugby and football pitches, six tennis courts, a climbing wall and a lake used for sailing and dragon boating.

A northern location may work for some families, especially once after-school activities are counted, but broad comparisons with NIST or Patana say little about the route from a particular address. Adult commuting needs and siblings’ arrangements matter alongside the school journey.
