WhichSchoolAdvisor describes ALS as a local independent school permitted to teach an alternative to the Saudi national curriculum. Lessons are in English, apart from Arabic Language, Arabic Social Studies and Islamic Studies. The review places these subjects at approximately 20% of curriculum time; the timetable and requirements may differ by grade and student.

A 2018 leadership brief described ALS as serving primarily Saudi students, with nearly all graduates attending universities in Saudi Arabia, the UK, the US or Canada. That is historical context, not a current enrolment or destinations breakdown. For a relocating child, the more useful questions concern language support, friendships and how the school helps new arrivals settle in.

Classes are co-educational from KG1 to Grade 3, with separate boys’ and girls’ sections from Grade 4 to Grade 12, according to WhichSchoolAdvisor. The school reports growth from 35 students at its founding to more than 1,500 learners. Older recruiter and review figures are lower and should not be treated as current enrolment totals.

The IB pathway and academic outcomes

ALS offers all three IB programmes and describes itself as one of the first schools in Saudi Arabia to provide the full continuum. Each programme has its own authorisation date, separate from the founding date. The school combines its IB curriculum with Islamic values and Arab traditions.

The admissions page’s tuition calculator, checked in October 2026, gives annual tuition of SAR 61,000 for KG1–KG2, SAR 69,000 for Grades 1–5, SAR 71,000 for Grades 6–10 and SAR 75,000 for Grades 11–12, paid in three instalments due 15 May, 15 August and 15 December; it does not name the school year. Non-Saudi families add 15% VAT, and the calculator applies a 10% discount to the second, third and fourth child. The entrance assessment costs SAR 5,000 (plus VAT for non-Saudis). Results take two to three working days for KG–Grade 5 and five to seven for Grades 6–12, and an applicant who is not accepted may retest after six months, subject to seat availability, without a second assessment fee.

The written quotation should show tuition, any applicable VAT, joining charges and optional services separately. It should also state deposit credits, sibling discounts, payment dates and withdrawal terms; published fee ranges do not say which of these costs are included.
